April is National Volunteer Month and AT&T is celebrating our employee volunteers who dedicate their time and service to communities across California and our country. AT&T employees and retirees volunteered more than 5.4 million hours last year alone to community causes and organizations. In California, AT&T employees and retirees gave approximately 890,000 volunteer hours to community activities in 2015 – worth more than $20.5 Million.
AT&T is proud to recognize our employees who are being honored with this year’s President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA). The PVSA recognizes individuals who demonstrate a commitment to volunteerism throughout the year. 577 employees in California and 4,288 nationwide will receive this honor, for logging a minimum of 100 service hours last year, with many volunteering more than 500 hours.
Community service has been an integral part of AT&T’s company culture for more than 100 years and takes many forms. From mentoring students through AT&T’s Aspire Mentoring Academy, to cleaning up our neighborhoods and parks, to feeding the hungry, AT&T employees are giving back and their stories help to inspire us all.
AT&T congratulates this year’s PVSA award recipients and thanks all our employee volunteers for helping to make our communities better here in California and across our nation.
