Paul V. La Schiazza, AT&T Illinois PresidentPaul V. La Schiazza serves as president of AT&T Illinois, one of the largest private employers in the state with more than 11,000 employees.
He was named to the position in October 2006. La Schiazza also serves as president of AT&T Midwest where he is responsible for the company’s regulatory, public policy and community relations initiatives across the Midwest, including Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin.

Under Mr. La Schiazza’s leadership, the company successfully advanced major Illinois legislative efforts in 2017, 2015, 2013 and 2010 that modernized the state’s communications law.  The results will help attract more private sector investment in high-speed internet networks to fuel the state’s economy and create jobs.  In 2007, he led the company’s effort to pass video reform legislation in Illinois, paving the way for AT&T to bring U-verse TV – and more competition – to consumers.

During Mr. La Schiazza’s tenure as AT&T Illinois President, the company and its employees have contributed more than $40 million in charitable and foundation giving programs in Chicago and throughout the state.   From 2012-2015, the company invested more than $3 billion in its wireless and wireline networks in Illinois.

A 38-year veteran of AT&T Corp., Mr. La Schiazza began his telecommunications career in 1979 with Indiana Bell.  He has held several positions in AT&T companies in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Texas and Wisconsin in product management, marketing, engineering, installation and maintenance, central office maintenance, regulatory and government affairs. 

Mr. La Schiazza is also deeply involved in volunteer leadership efforts in Illinois.  He serves on the Board of Directors of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, one of the largest chamber organizations in the country.  He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Urban League and United Way of Metropolitan Chicago.  Mr. La Schiazza is an active member of The Commercial Club of Chicago, Civic Committee of The Commercial Club of Chicago, Economic Club of Chicago and Executives’ Club of Chicago.

Mr. La Schiazza is a 1979 Graduate of Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Management.
