The Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic’s Teen/STEM Experience provides local teens with a comprehensive program centered on a positive science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM-centric learning environment where they are engaged in learning, planning and executing their educational and career goals.
This year, AT&T contributed $25,000 to the Club as part of AT&T Aspire, the company’s signature philanthropic initiative that helps promote student success in school and beyond.
“At the Boys and Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic, our young people can make new friends, learn new skills and prepare for the next chapters in their lives. The Club’s Teen/STEM Experience is a great way for them to learn more about the opportunities in STEM careers in our state and gain the skills they need to excel in whatever they choose to do,” said Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter.
“New Jersey is home to companies like ours that are world leaders in innovation, and we need employees who have strong STEM skills to help us serve our customers today and in the future. Our support of the Boys and Girls Club of Paterson & Passaic will help inspire more teens to consider careers in STEM and equip these talented young men and women to be the next generation of STEM leaders,” said Charlene Brown, regional vice president for AT&T in New Jersey.
Over the past 3 years, AT&T has contributed $80,000 to the Club.
“We are very fortunate to team up with AT&T to support our Club Teens as they navigate through the challenges of understanding their strengths and determining their future,” said Wendy McGuire, Deputy Executive Director. “The support from AT&T means that they will have the guidance and empowerment they need to create a pathway to success.”
