AT&T Expands Mobile Broadband Network in Western Pennsylvania

Posted by AT&T Pennsylvania Team

New LTE sites added in Gibsonia, Sewickley and Fombell

AT&T added new 4G LTE cell sites to its network in the Pittsburgh area, providing more mobile broadband coverage to residents, visitors and businesses in communities across the region.

A new site in Gibsonia enhances mobile broadband coverage between North Park and Route 8. A second site in Sewickley boosts coverage for residents, businesses and visitors in town.  And, in Fombell, Beaver County, the new site covers the area around Route 588 and Zelienople Rd.

“We want our customers in the Pittsburgh area and across the state to have a great experience. They’ll be able to download, upload, stream and play games faster than ever before on our 4G LTE network— which is the nation’s best data network**,” said J. Michael Schweder, president, AT&T Mid Atlantic. “We’re always working to provide better coverage. And we’re investing in our wireless network to accomplish that.”

Schweder said the sites are among 47 new sites AT&T launched in 2017 – and among 384 network upgrades we made statewide last year.  AT&T invested more than $800 million in its networks in Pennsylvania from 2014-2016.

By building out our 4G LTE network, we also are laying the foundation for our 5G Evolution, the next advance in network technologies. We are increasing network speeds and capacity, as we continue to expand the availability and capacity of our network using the latest technology.

**Claim based on the Nielsen Certified Data Network Score. Score includes data reported by wireless consumers in the Nielsen Mobile Insights survey, network measurements from Nielsen Mobile Performance and Nielsen Drive Test Benchmarks for Q2 + Q3 2017 across 121 markets.
