Dear Fellow San Franciscan,
Welcome! I don’t have to tell you that San Francisco loves technology.
It’s in our DNA and it is part of who we are. We live in an environment that thrives on tech. It drives innovation and it shapes our culture.
We were at the center of the Dot Com revolution, and San Francisco is home to some of the most successful and innovative companies in new media. But beyond the businesses and companies that call San Francisco home are the residents who embrace how technology can change the way we live, work and play, connecting us to every corner of the world. And with the emergence of smart phones and mobile technology, we can do this from anywhere at any time.
At AT&T, we understand the role we play in keeping you connected to your world. To live up to your expectations, we have invested more than $2.4 billion in the past three years to improve our wireless infrastructure in San Francisco.
67 percent of all new phones purchased in 2012 were smart phones. More than a quarter of all wireless subscribers have smart phones now, increasing video and data traffic on wireless networks. In fact, AT&T has experienced a 30,000 percent increase in wireless data traffic over the past six years.
As someone who is proud to call San Francisco my home, the employees of AT&T and I share a unified vision to help ensure that San Francisco’s wireless network is second to none.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about this important infrastructure upgrade. I encourage you use this website to share your thoughts and ideas. We will be updating this website often to keep you up to date on our progress and continue to educate and inform you of our plans.
